Rice & Peas Cooking Kit


Products in the Kit:

  • 1 x 2kg Easy Cook Rice
  • 1 x Can of Red Kidney Beans
  • 1 x Can Coconut Milk
  • 1 x Packet Ground Allspice (Pimento)
  • 1 x Scotch Bonnet Pepper 100g
  • 1 x Thyme Bunch
  • 1 x Bunch Spring Onion (Scallion)
  • 1 x Garlic Cloves Pack 350g

Cooking Instructions (Serves 3-4):

  1. 1. Place approximately seven cups of water to boil in a pot
  2. 2. Finely chop 5 cloves of Garlic and add to the boiling water
  3. 3. Drain the red kidney beans and add
  4. 4. Add three cups of rice, the whole can of coconut milk and two sprigs of fresh thyme
  5. 5. Crush three branches of spring onion and place into the pot
  6. 6. Add an uncut scotch bonnet pepper and season with a pinch of salt & pepper, bring to simmer and then turn the heat to low and cover
  7. 7. The rice should take about 20mins to cook but may vary depending on the rice used. Check after 15mins and once done remove from the heat and cover for 10mins
  8. 8. Remove the scotch bonnet pepper and fluff the rice with a fork before serving
