Puregro Allspice Whole Pimento 240g

Allspice is a dry brown berry of the tropical tree Pimenta dioica. It is a close relative of clove and is native to the West Indies and Central America. It got its name in the 17th century, when allspice berries were first imported into Europe because they are said to combine cloves, cinnamon and nutmeg. The spice berries are harvested in a green  state and fermented briefly, and then dried in the sun , where they appear reddish brown. It provides spectacular flavours to many dishes.
